    I’ve had the R7 for a few weeks now and I absolutely love it. The autofocus and tracking is spot on. Takes a little playing with the settings to dial it in for your own personal use/shooting type, but once you have that down this is a great wildlife camera.

    It is a little heavier than I expected, but nothing terrible.

    I would have possibly waiting had I heard that there is a full frame R8 rumoured to in the works and *IF* it ends up having a lot of the same specs and the AF tracking as the R7 does.

    It is nice to be able to use my EF/EF-S lenses with the adapter. Big positive for that. I would like to try out the speed booster, but it seems that viltrox was basically forced to stop making anything with the RF mount. Metabones has one that I may pick up. You should be nearly into the R6/R5 territory with a speed booster.

    I got it as my work camera and I am really happy with it, except for in dark scenarios... The crop sensor makes it really hards for the luminosity... I end up having to bring up the ISO. But the quality is incredible ! Lots of pixels and the 4K 60fps footage all look gorgeous ! Sadly the slow motion is only 1080p but I use it for instagram reels mostly and 4K on there looks 1080p anyway. got a canon RP on the side for when I need a full frame camera for low lights scenarios so it makes it the perfect combo! I highly recommend this camera, but if you work often in low luminosity situations you should look into other models.

    The advantage of mirrorless camera over traditional DSLR is often understated. With the right electronics, software, and processing power, the entry area of the camera sensor can be utilized for focusing, tracking, image detection control, etc. without adding dedicated sensors in the case of traditional DSLR.
    Even though the Canon R7 is not a full-size camera, it is more affordable than its big brothers R5/R6. Its 33MP (cropped) APS-C sensor has sufficient resolution for my non-professional "wildlife photography" applications and my telephoto lenses benefitted from the 1.6 magnification over their photo length.
    However, be prepared to spend time to learn, understand, and use the camera to its full capabilities. The advanced manual from Canon is over 900 pages and it is not the most interesting read.

Escolhi um modelo APS-C pelo aumento adicional de alcance para a minha lente 150-600mm, que passa a ser equivalente a uma 960mm, um belo ganho. O adaptador EF-EOS R (adquirido à parte) funcionou muito bem e não trouxe prejuízo nem ao autofoco e nem à entrada de luz.
    Além do ganho no alcance, é uma máquina bem mais moderna que a anterior e tem muitos recursos que ainda estou explorando. A qualidade do video é fantástica e a estabilização no sensor funciona muito bem. A velocidade de fotos por segundo também é muito boa e ajuda bem na captura de aves em vôo.
    A perda que mais me incomoda em relação à minha fullframe é, evidentemente, o desempenho com pouca luz e ISO alto. A imagem fica muito ruidosa e tenho que limitar o ISO a, no máximo, 3200 já aceitando um alto nível de ruído. Também sinto falta do viewfinder ótico, mas isso é um caminho sem volta, acho que terei que aceitar que as máquinas sem espelho terão viewfinder eletrônico.
    No geral, estou satisfeito com a compra. Ainda acho que esse tipo de equipamento é muito caro no Brasil, comparados com preços praticados no exterior.
